•AVIATION: State-owned oil marketing companies have cut the price of aviation turbine fuel by an average 316.20 rupees a kL in the four metropolitan cities.
• FAST MOVING CONSUMER GOODS: The government is mulling curbs on import of cigarettes and a complete ban on foreign participation in wholesale trading in tobacco and cigarettes.
• POWER: The Central Electricity Authority has told powergenerating companies, power project developers, and power 
equipment makers that boilers, including auxiliaries, should be designed for a 30:70 blend ratio, in which 30% would be 
imported coal, while the remainder would be indigenous coal.
•TELECOM: The Department of Telecom has rejected the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's demand that powers to issue licences to telecom companies be entrusted with it
